DESCRIPTION Founded in January 2002, the Scottish Maps Forum aims to encourage the use and study of early maps of Scotland, as well as collaboration among map collections in Scotland. It builds on the Project Pont initiative (1996-2001) which concentrated on Scotland's earliest maps by Timothy Pont in the late 16th century (http://www.nls.uk/pont). The Forum organises an annual seminar or other event. Membership is free; contact maps@nls.uk to be put on the mailing list.
